Why would it be any other way? "Everything that can be invented has been invented" Charles H. Duell, Commissioner, U.S. Patent office, 1899

Cultures merge all the time. My grandparents and parents generations were the melting pot.

Today, cultures blend as a direct result of the incredible level of information we share through the media. It's no longer just print media, radio and TV, it now includes, the Internet and that wonderful new device, the intelligent cell phone. Some would say we are over exposed. I say bring it. I listen to Chris Botti, Andrea Bocelli, Mark Anthony and Jay-Z… Can you tell what my cultural background is by the music I listen to? I watch 24, George Lopez, Tiger anything and the NFL… Can you tell what my cultural background is by what I watch? I read GQ, Men’s Health, The New Yorker and Wired… Get my point?

We all have access; we can all assimilate while maintaining/sharing our culture. It’s pretty cool. What is your target audience and what is the culture? Go stand in the middle of Penn Station at 6:00 PM and turn slowly 360 degrees. Today, you need to speak to everyone. It’s a “Big Ask.”

Reggaeton is one of the rhythms we dance. I think Zumba is a trend. But the cultural current is the convergence of cultures, only this convergence, in my opinion goes well beyond the mere reality that we are all here...It's much deeper, it's how we are all influencing each other across cultures, creating new ones and ultimately, changing our behavior..Seguimos!

Jackie
Zumba sounds so cool...how would you qualify regeton as?
Is it a trend a movement or a fad...is it just an example of dilemma flipping...or the ability of turning a dilemma-which unlike problems, can not be solved- into advantages and opportunities??
just a thought because it spread quickly and do not know if it stopped!
be well

These days, I am not so much into heritage-brand loyalty. Instead, I am seeking for new brands that can offer a combination of the right price, amount, and the best quality.

As a result, I have modified my eating habits, including more "viandas" and vegetables, a variety of proteins like tofu, chicken, and those found in grains, vegetables, legumes and fruits. Now, I can have a dinner party at home for four people with salad, vegetables, bake chicken, fruits and wine, at a cost of no more than $25.00. Period!

With this economy, my life has change, my consumer habits have changed, without sacrificing my social life and the refrigerator next day.

It's all for the better!
